one thriller wouldn't kill youMy 2012 appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show with 200 male survivors.
In 2012 I had the privilege of appearing with 200 male survivors of sexual abuse on the Oprah Winfrey Show. They whisked us off to Chicago, put up in style at the Omni Hotel, next day to HARPO Studios where we shot the two episodes back-to-back. We were asked to bring a photograph at the age the abuse was perpetrated.
The class picture you see here, below, was taken when I was 11, a few days after I joined the Boy Scouts. I was so excited to wear my scout shirt and neckerchief. Although you can’t see it in the picture, I was wearing jeans. I borrowed the neckerchief. We were saving up for the uniform pants. I was so proud and grateful; my mother had been able to get the shirt at Salvation Army.
See if you can spot me in this video of the two episodes of Oprah Episodes we taped that day.
